SAN CONSULTANCY PROCESS

GCH's SAN Consultancy Service includes the following:

Hardware

  1. One laptop with the SAN Analysis Software
  2. SAN Analysis Appliances
  3. Use of TAPs (Traffic Access Points)

SAN Consultancy: A Step by Step Guide

  1. Client meeting to review the SAN infrastructure and perceived SAN issues
  2. Determine tap placement and the number of links to be monitored
  3. TAP’s Installation
  4. Deploy SAN Analusis Appliance
  5. Configure SAN Analysis software

    This can be installed either in one of your servers or it will come in a ready configured laptop that we will be provided in order to collect the necessary traces. This laptop will be connected directly to our SAN Analysis equipment and it will not interfere with your network.

  6. Examine traces and generate initial report
  7. Provide necessary product training for end users (if necessary)
  8. Move SAN Analysis Appliance to take further traces (if necessary)
  9. Evaluate collected statistics and report on all issues found
  10. Generate a report (see below) that details the problems found with recommendations to resolve the issues.
  11. Appliances Removal
